Alex O'Beirne - Perth, Western Australia

Alex trained in orthopaedic surgery in Perth, Western Australia before completing Fellowships in hand and brachial plexus surgery at Royal North Shore Hospital Sydney, Australia and St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne Australia.

 

Alex specialises in upper limb surgery including hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder and has a special interest in peripheral nerve and brachial plexus surgeries.

Rohan Page - Perth, Western Australia

Rohan graduated from the University of Western Australia in 1993, graduating with degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.  After completing post graduate training through Royal Perth Hospital, Sir Charles Gairdiner Hospital, and Princess Margaret Hospital, Rohan completed Fellowships in Plastic Surgery at the prestigious Great Ormond Street Hospital in London, UK, for Hand surgery, Craniofacial Surgery, Ear Reconstruction Surgery, and Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery.

After some time spent as Clinical Instructor in Plastic Surgery at Stanford University Hospital in California, USA, Rohan returned to Western Australia where he practices at the Western Australian Plastic Surgery Centre and is a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at St John of God Hospital in Subiaco, Murdoch, Wembley and The Mount Hospital.

Tim Proudman - Adelaide, South Australia

Tim Proudman completed his medical degree in 1986 at the University of Adelaide. He trained in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in Adelaide and Brisbane and in 1996 became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. In 1996 he undertook fellowship in the UK at St James' Hospital in Leeds. In 1998 he was awarded Master of Surgery by the University of Adelaide. He is currently Head of Unit of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

Tim's interests are in all aspects of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He has expertise in skin cancer surgery, breast surgery, tummy tuck, eyelid and facelift surgery, liposuction, children's plastic surgery such as prominent ears and hand surgery, brachial plexus surgery and peripheral nerve surgery.

Tim consults on Wakefield Street and Angaston Hospital and operates at the Wakefield Surgicentre, Calvary Wakefield hospital, Angaston Hospital and Burnside Hospital.

Michael McCleave - Adelaide, South Australia

Michael McCleave is an Adelaide trained Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon.
He has completed fellowship training in hand and microsurgery at the Kleinert Institute in the USA, a paediatric plastic surgery Fellowship at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children in London and the Mentor International Aesthetic/Cosmetic Fellowship in London.

He has an interest in all plastic and reconstructive surgery with a particular interest in skin cancers, hand surgery, cosmetic surgery, paediatric plastic surgery, microsurgery and nerve surgery.

Scott Ferris - Melbourne, Victoria

Mr Scott Ferris is a Reconstructive Plastic Surgeon, and microsurgeon, who is the Deputy Director of Plastic Surgery at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, as well as Director of the Victorian Plastic Surgery Unit at St Vincent’s Private Hospital East Melbourne. He is also the Royal Australian College of Surgeons appointed Supervisor of Training for accredited registrars undergoing advanced training in plastic surgery at The Alfred Hospital.

 

Mr Ferris has an extensive practice in adult traumatic brachial plexus injury, as well as non-traumatic lesions of the brachial plexus, including tumours. Patients are seen and treated in both the private and public hospital setting. Mr Ferris leads the brachial plexus service at The Alfred Hospital, including chairing regular multidisciplinary meetings for complex cases. He regularly attends national and international conferences to speak about techniques for improving outcomes and quality of life for brachial plexus injury patients.

Richard Lawson - Sydney, New South Wales

Dr Richard Lawson is an orthopaedic hand surgeon practising out of Sydney's North Shore and Dubbo in NSW. He has particular expertise in brachial plexus and peripheral nerve surgery, congenital hand surgery and Dupuytren’s disease and operates on both paediatric and adult patients.

He is Head of the Department of Hand and Peripheral Nerve Surgery as well as the Lincoln Director of Hand Surgery Research at Royal North Shore Hospital.

Nicholas Smith - Sydney, New South Wales

Nicholas graduated from University of Sydney Medical School and went on to do the following Fellowships - Smith and Nephew Ilizarov and Research Fellowship, New Children’s Hospital, Westmead - Shoulder and elbow fellowship, Dr David Duckworth, Sydney - International Pediatric Orthopedic Fellowship, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, Dallas Texas, USA - International Hand and Upper Extremity Fellowship, Texas Scottish Rite Hospital, Dallas, Texas, USA.

 

Nicholas practices at Specialty Othopaedics, Norwest Private Hospita in Bella Vista and also at The Children’s Hospital Westmead.

Peter Rohan - Brisbane, Queensland

Peter Rowan attended the University of Queensland medical school and completed his specialty training in orthopaedic surgery in 1997. He travelled to the United States for further training in upper extremity surgery, including microsurgery at Duke University Medical Centre. This was followed by further training in children’s upper limb surgery at the Texas Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital in Dallas. He gained further experience in children’s orthopaedics and deformity correction in both Australia and Italy.

 

Dr Rowan commenced practice at Brisbane Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre in 1999. He is a visiting specialist at Lady Cliento Children’s Hospital.

Kenneth Cutbush - Brisbane, Queensland

Kenneth completed and received his medical degree at the University of Queensland in 1991. Following this he completed a Fellowship in hand and upper limb surgery at Princess Alexandra Hospital in Queensland.

 

Kenneth has published in international medical journals and his continued commitment to education and research into new techniques and procedures assists his ongoing training and instruction of developing orthopaedic surgeons

Mark Ross - Brisbane, Queensland

Associate Professor Mark Ross is an Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in surgery of the hand, wrist, elbow and shoulder including microsurgery, arthroscopy and joint replacement.

Professor Mark Ross graduated with a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Queensland in 1987.  He completed his FRACS in Orthopaedic Surgery in 1996 and undertook a fellowship in Hand and Upper Limb Surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in 1997, before travelling to the USA to undertake a 12-month Fellowship at the Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery in Louisville, Kentucky.

He is currently in private practice at the Brisbane Private Hospital as part of the Brisbane Hand & Upper Limb Clinic.  He operates privately at the Brisbane Private Hospital. He is also a visiting Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Princess Alexandra Hospital.
